Hawken is a moist smokeless tobacco product manufactured in the United States by the American Snuff Company. It was introduced to the Dip world in the 1980’s and in it’s beginning, was a very unique type of Dip. While most smokeless tobacco brands like Copenhagen and Skoal were founded as a fine cut Dip, these companies were beginning a new type of cut for their products, Long Cut. When Hawken was released, it was released as a Coarse cut type of dip. Coarse cut smokeless was a cross between Long Cut and tobacco bits in side and shape. While Long Cut smokeless was a type of tobacco that was actually shredded rather than the long standing ground, Hawken was a truly “cut” tobacco product. |
